Flower gift guide

Fresh or dried flower gifts in Notting Hill

Fresh flowers offer seasonal movement and scent; dried or preserved designs offer lasting texture.

Guide notes

Choose by the recipient’s room, care preferences and the feeling you want the gift to carry.

Occasion and room

Fresh flowers suit birthdays, dinner invitations and thank-you gifts when the pleasure is opening something alive. Dried flowers suit a shelf, hallway or bedside table where a fixed, textural arrangement feels considered. Check the setting first: dry living areas generally suit dried material better than steamy bathrooms.

Fresh flower gifts

Fresh flowers let the season lead, so colour and ingredients vary through the year. FORAGED.’s current Twilight Wild bouquet is £120, with exact stems shaped by seasonal availability. Choose it for scent, changing colour and vase care; clean water, re-cut stems and a cooler position away from radiators help it keep looking its best.

Dried and preserved gifts

Dried and preserved flowers bring seedheads, grasses, lavender and papery forms into an architectural, tactile arrangement. They need no vase water, but can fade, gather dust or become fragile. FORAGED.’s dried and preserved arrangements are bespoke and priced by quotation, with scale, palette, vessel and location discussed before agreement.

Care and placement

For fresh flowers, use a clean vase, check the water every couple of days, and change it while re-cutting stems every two to four days. Keep them away from radiators and fires. Keep dried flowers away from water, direct sun and moist rooms; remove dust with a low-heat hairdryer.

Choosing fresh or dried flowers

Choose fresh for movement; choose dried or preserved for a particular interior and less care. Materials, transport, vessel, season and placement matter; neither is automatically sustainable. FORAGED. is a home-based Urban Flower Studio in Stanley Gardens, Notting Hill; no walk-ins. W10 and W11 delivery requests need studio confirmation for a next-business-day-or-later date. Free 15-minute consultation is a request until confirmed.

Questions

Are fresh or dried flowers better for a birthday gift?

Choose fresh for a lively seasonal gesture; choose dried or preserved for a particular interior and less water care. The recipient’s space and taste matter most.

How do I care for a fresh FORAGED. bouquet?

Use a clean vase, check the water, and change it while trimming stem ends every two to four days. Keep it away from radiators and fires.

Can dried flowers go in a bathroom or kitchen?

A dry, sheltered room is safer. Moisture can cause problems, while direct sun can alter dried material. Consider a hallway, bedroom or living area instead.

Do dried flower arrangements need any care?

They need no vase water, but do need gentle handling and sensible placement away from moisture and strong sun. Use a low-heat hairdryer to remove dust.

What do dried flower gifts from FORAGED. cost?

Dried and preserved arrangements are priced by quotation because scale, vessel, palette and materials depend on the brief. The current fresh Twilight Wild bouquet is £120.
